Can a single person get a mortgage?

Are you looking to buy a home for yourself? Whether you want to permanently relocate to Spain or make a property investment, you should know that single people and individuals can get a mortgage in Spain just like any couple or family can. A single person can even present a stronger application than any joint application depending on the individual conditions of the loan applicant. The amount of money you can get will primarily depend on your net salary and any other income you might have. In addition, it will also take into consideration your monthly expenses and your individual credit history.

Any other existing loans, insurance and additional financial commitments you may have will also play a role while you are trying to get a loan as a single person in Spain. In general, banks and brokers can seal a deal for non-residents of around 50% or 80% of the appraisal  value of the home you are looking to buy.
